OGResearch (OGR, https://ogresearch.com/) is a Prague-based consultancy specializing in macroeconomic modeling and forecasting. Models, software, and forecasting systems developed by OGR support the pricing of financial instruments and policy-making in many national and international institutions worldwide. The company works on developed, emerging, as well as developing economies.

OGR combines knowledge of policy making and technological know-how to produce tailor-made products in a user-friendly environment. The company develops specialized forecasting and modeling software which is used both by professional forecasters and by academic researchers. Experts at OGR regularly consult central banks, the EBRD, and other institutions on forecasting systems, policy-making, and regime transitions.

OGR has offices in Prague, Brno, Budapest, and Belgrade, and is seeking data operators to join the team.

Terms to offer:

This is a part-time job (about 15 hours per week) ideal for universitystudents of economics, statistics, and other specializations. Flexible workinghours with the possibility to work both on-site and off-site. Access toRefinitiv Eikon, Matlab, and other programs useful for a future career in thefield. At OGR, you can work with a small team of young professionals in acollegial, diverse, and challenging environment. We are seeking candidates fora one-year contract at least.

Primary duties and requirements:

  • Responsible for the timely and orderly data collection for regular forecast updates of both advanced economies and emerging markets.
  • Ad-hoc support of OGR analytical teams in data collection and basic data analysis.
  • Need of good working habits, capacity to work under time pressure, and proactive approach to solution-seeking.
  • Detail orientation, capacity to find issues while working with time series.
  • Basic understanding of main macroeconomic variables.Good understanding of the English language (other languages as an advantage - Russian, Spanish, French, ...)
